Welcome Shathar!

This summer, we had the pleasure of welcoming Shathar Alobeidat to our laboratory to learn all about EC-SERS! Check out this profile of Shathar, we are so happy to have her here at SMU!!

I'm Shathar Alobeidat, a Jordanian second-year PhD student in Nanotechnology at the University of Trieste in Italy. My research focuses on developing analytical methods using Surface-enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS). I joined Dr. Brosseau's lab for a 5-month research period with the support of the European Social Fund Plus of Friuli Venezia Giulia (FSE+ FVG) to learn all about EC-SERS, work on collaborative projects with a diverse and talented research team, as well as enjoy the novelty of reasonable summer temperatures.

Outside the lab, I love painting, listening to music, watching standup comedy, sci-fi and being in nature, and my free time is spent trying to blend those passions together.
